Display the list of steps (Checklist/Milestones) in a view without opening the record

Hello,

In Tracking, I use a “Checklist / Milestones” type attribute to manage a list of mitigation measures associated with a validation request (each measure being a step/milestone to follow).

I would like to set up a view that allows direct display, for each record, of the complete list of steps in this checklist, without having to open the record.

Question: Is there a configuration, a view, a component, or a feature (standard or via parameterization) allowing:

  • to display the content of a “Checklist / Milestones” attribute in a view (ideally the list of steps, and if possible their status);

  • or, failing that, a recommended alternative (e.g., table/kanban with sub-items, dedicated widget, enriched “detail” view, another more suitable attribute type)?

Usage context: I want to have a global overview of mitigation measures across all requests, to facilitate tracking and avoid having to enter each record.

Thank you in advance for your feedback (screenshots or configuration examples are welcome).

Hello,

Yes — for this need (to see all steps of a Checklist / Milestones without opening each card), the most suitable standard solution is generally the KANBAN view.

:white_check_mark: Why Kanban is “ideal” in your case

In a Kanban view, cards are highly configurable: you can directly display the “Checklist / Milestones” attribute (the list of steps, and depending on the settings, their progress/status), and interact with it directly from the card (without having to open the card).

:wrench: Recommended Setup (simple and effective)

  1. Create (or duplicate) a view → Kanban on your board

  2. Choose the grouping

  3. Open the card display settings

  4. Add the “Checklist / Milestones” attribute to the card to see all steps in one place

:repeat_button: Alternative if the checklist becomes “too big”

If you have many measures (or need for assignment, dates, comments per step), you can also move the mitigation measures to a dedicated board linked to risks (1-N relationship): you gain sub-item management, while maintaining a consolidated view via views and indicators.
