Cascading LookUp Attribute

Hello,

I am working on a cascading Board concept:

I want to be able to build views at different levels depending on the audience and thus enrich the different types of elements according to business needs. This currently results in the following attribute diagram:

I am already observing limitations regarding the use of the LookUp attribute.
For example, concerning start and end dates.
I have dates defined at Level 20 for phases to establish the schedule.
I bring them up to Level 10 for Projects to get the earliest and latest dates for the project start and end.
But it’s impossible to retrieve, via LookUp at Level 00 for Programs, the attribute built by LookUp at the Project level.

Similarly, I would like to be able to bring down information from Level 00_Program to Level 30_Deliverable, such as the Program Name or the Stakes. I have no way to bring information down further than one board.
The same would apply to the progress of Deliverables, which would be good to bring up to the Project level.

I can give you access to the Workspace if you’re interested!

Thank you,

Hello Antoine. We are indeed well aware of the scope of a LookUp attribute.
This scope is only attached to the associated relationship, which only applies from one board to another board.

So when there are several cascaded boards, this LookUp currently does not have the ability to go beyond. However, the idea is interesting, and we had already identified it in various use cases where the model is complex (more than 3 or 4 linked boards).

We are continuing our discussions to provide a first viable alternative. Wait & See.
