Linked table should allow for sorting on a given column

I cannot sort on a given column, when items are linked to a given card.

Hello Earl,

this sorting feature for displaying a linked attribute in the form does not currently exist. By default, it should be the system order in which the links were added.

But the idea is excellent and very useful in many respects, thanks to this type of feedback. It has now landed in our idea box and will be studied soon. :wink:

Good news: this improvement is now available in production :tada:

It is now possible to sort the display of a relationship table directly from the editing panel, by clicking on the column header, just like in a Grid view.

The sorting is intentionally non-persistent: it applies only to the current display, without changing the order of the linked elements.

Thank you again for this very concrete feedback, which allowed us to improve usage in Suivi.

This does help. Unfortunately, when I select on an item that has been sorted, the system opens the original item in the unsorted order. As I can’t attach a video of a recording, I’ll send it directly.

Thanks @EarlHasz, I’ve received your video, fully understood the problem, and the bug is being addressed. I’ll get back to you in this thread once it’s fixed.

Could we also imagine a possibility of a permanent filter on a relationship table?

The idea would be, for example, to filter elements with an “Active” or “In-progress” status and no longer have “Completed” ones, for instance.

Thank you again for your detailed feedback on this topic.

We have delivered a fix regarding the issue where clicking on an item displayed in a sorted relationship table could open the wrong record.

Now, even after sorting the table, clicking opens the selected item correctly.

Please let us know if you still notice any abnormal behavior on your end.

This would be a great extension. I have several such instances that I would like to filter out completed or no-longer relevant items.

Thank you for this suggestion, which we had already identified in our product backlog under reference VISSUIVI-I-95 so that it can be studied and prioritized with the Product team.

We cannot yet commit to a delivery timeframe, but the need has been clearly identified and will be analyzed as part of future developments.
