The 3D Viewer is now available in SUIVI.

This new feature allows you to directly integrate 3D models into your boards, without relying on an external tool.

Please provide some use cases for this new capability. I am trying to understand how I would use this in my board(s). Why would I be putting 3D models onto Suivi? I don’t expect that I would be using Suivi as a data management tool.

I like the notion of the collaboration capabilities. I look forward to seeing how this works.

You are absolutely right: the goal is not to transform SUIVI into a CAD/PDM tool or a heavy-duty technical management solution.

The idea of the 3D Viewer is rather to make 3D models accessible and usable in collaborative mode.

Here are some concrete examples where this becomes interesting:

:small_blue_diamond: A project manager, a buyer, or a quality person can quickly visualize a part or an assembly without needing a CAD license.

:small_blue_diamond: Production or quality teams can visually identify a component during an exchange, a review, or a non-conformity treatment.

:small_blue_diamond: Design teams can attach a 3D model directly to a task, a milestone, a deliverable, or a request so that everyone shares the same visual context.

:small_blue_diamond: During exchanges with a client or a supplier, the model can be opened instantly from the board without having to send screenshots or PDF exports.

:small_blue_diamond: Automatic thumbnail generation also brings a lot of convenience: boards become much more readable when parts or products are visually identifiable.

Today, the viewer allows for:

  • GLB file visualization

  • navigation (zoom / rotation / full screen)

  • automatic rotation

  • screenshots

  • thumbnail generation

  • a lightweight and integrated approach within SUIVI

It can be seen as a way to bring the product context directly into:

  • project management

  • quality monitoring

  • production exchanges

  • purchasing processes
